(NOTE: This was created by undergraduate students in UWO EDLDRSP 325 / Summer 2009)
If you use many computers del.icio.us is for you. If you have many bookmarks (favorites) on your home computer with del.icio.us you can access these favorites from any computer that has internet access. You also can check out other people’s bookmarks and the ones that are most popular at the time.

Step 1: Create a del.icio.us Account
- del.icio.us is one of the best tools available on the web for saving and sharing the sites that are important to you. The best part of all? It's free. Setting up an account with del.icio.us only takes a few minutes and requires no special technical knowledge.
3. Click the Get Started or Register link.
4. Choose a username and password.
5. Fill in your email address.
6. Click the Register button.
7. Click
Install Extension Now to add
del.icio.us buttons for Firefox or
Internet Explorer to your web b rowser. After they're installed, you can bookmark pages easily by clicking on the del.icio.us buttons in your toolbar. (These buttons are not available for the
AOL, MSN or SBC Yahoo! proprietary browsers.) o
- Other Browsers: Drag and Drop the del.icio.us bookmarklet buttons into your toolbar. The "drag and drop" buttons allow you to bookmark pages easily though they lack some of the options available to users of the "installed" buttons, including the ability to see your bookmarks without visiting the del.icio.us website.
8. Go to your email.
9. Open the verification email from del.icio.us.
10. Click on the verification link.
11. Now you're ready to start bookmarking.

Delicious can be used in many ways in the classroom. Here is a website that shares with you the steps that can be taken to use this tool for language;

Look for the subject that you would like to teach and click on i t, (Science, Math, Social Studies, Language Arts) This seems to be a great site that can be easily utilized by the students and the teachers.

When you use Delicious, you must have a yahoo account, right? Does that mean you can only share with people in your yahoo address book? I'm a big time gmail user and don't really have good addresses in yahoo which is why I'm asking. Looks helpful regardless!

You can share with anyone -- they do not need a yahoo account.
