Are you a glogster?? Or, like me, are you asking, "What is a glogster?". A glogster is a person who creates glogs. Simply, except...what is a glog?
A glog is an on-line visual media tool. A glogster can create a glog on any subject they please. Basically a glog is an innovative way to create a digital poster that can also be saved and printed to be displayed in a physical location.

Glogs can be used in classrooms as visual tools for teaching. Students can create glogs for creative writing projects, visual aides for assignments, or even for research projects. Glogs can be seen on the Internet or be printed, so students can have both the experience of having a physical visual aid, or they may view glogs on-line that also have sounds, music, videos, or effects.

To create a glog, one must go to www.glogster.com and create an account. Registration is easy and free. Once registered you may develop and personalize your profile, add friends, check out the other glogs, or create your very own glog. To create a glog one must simply click on create glog. This will take the user a glog set up page. There are several backgrounds, graphics, sounds, effects, and text boxes to choose from. The user, or glogster, can also up load images, music and videos from their personal collection to add to the glog. Sounds, effects, and videos can only be utilized when the glog is being viewed via the Internet. These features will not work when the glog is put into print.

Once completed the glog can be saved and made public to the glogster community, or if you are the bashful type, you may choose to keep your glog private. With your completed glog you are given the URL address and the embedding code, to use in sharing your glog. Glogs can be shared in several ways. Glogs be shared on social websites like myspace and facebook. To learn other ways to share glogs, go to the bottom of the page and click on FAQ this will bring you to the questions and answers page. From this page click "How to share my glog".

To print a finished glog; right click and press print. You can access your glog from any computer that has internet access. You can also set your glog to be the background of your computer or see in in full-screen.

Glogster.com, like myspace or facebook, has a social community aspect. Users can also gain ranking according to how many glogs they make, the quality of their glogs, how many friends they have recruited to glogster.com, and how many times other users have looked at their glogs. Although everyone is encouraged to use glogster.com, it generally is geared toward young adults, teenagers, and adolescents.

Check out the example glog I have made.
